Radiological Engineer


At the Animal Hospital Postojna, Matjaž Jeraj contributes to developing, improving, and modernizing radiotherapeutic techniques.

Matjaž Jeraj continued his studies after completing secondary health school in Ljubljana at the High School of Health, specializing in radiology, where he graduated in 2003. As a radiological engineer, he completed an internship and passed the professional exam at the Institute of Oncology in Ljubljana in October 2004. He has been employed at the Institute of Oncology in the Department of Teletherapy since 2004. During this time, he gained extensive experience in the field through his work and participation in professional training programs, both domestically and internationally.

Matjaž is the head of radiological engineering at the newest radiation therapy device (the Elekta Synergy linear accelerator, 2018) and the president of the radiotherapy section at the Association of Radiological Engineers of Slovenia.

He has been collaborating with the Animal Hospital Postojna as an external associate since its inception - since 2007. To transfer his extensive knowledge and experience into the veterinary profession, he familiarized himself with animal radiotherapy at the radiation therapy center at the Veterinary Faculty in Paris, France.
