Prof. Dr. Janoš Butinar is the founder of the Animal Hospital Postojna and professional leader of the hospital's growing team.
Janoš Butinar first wished to become a veterinary doctor when he was five years old. His wish came true, and Prof. Dr. Janoš Butinar spent 25 years of his fruitful career as a veterinarian at the Veterinary Faculty in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he was promoted to a Full Professor in 2008. Prof. Dr. Janoš Butinar completed his residency with the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in Great Britain (Queen Mother Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Cambridge) with Prof. White and at the Veterinary Faculty in Utrecht with Prof. Van Sluijs and Prof. Kirpensteijn. His specific interests lie in surgical oncology and reconstructive surgery. He obtained additional training in abdominal surgery with world-renowned surgeon Prof. Eldarju M. Gadžijev.
Prof. Dr. Janoš Butinar is an active member of the European Society of Veterinary Oncology. Most of his non-clinical time is devoted to the study of tumour biology and clinical research with the aim of providing better diagnostic and treatment options to veterinary oncology patients.
